6. Emergency situations during the Competition

ATTENTION TO ALL PARTICIPANTS OF THE EVENT!

In the event of an air raid alert in Kyiv, the Competition will be suspended (changes to the start schedule are possible). The continuation of the Competition will be announced after the air raid alert is lifted (but in any case only during daylight hours).

During an air raid alert, results will not be recorded. No finish protocol will be compiled. For cycling distances, the protocol of finishers and winners may be compiled based on a smaller number of laps.

In the event of a warning from the State Emergency Service in the region where the Event is held, on the eve of the Event or on the day of the Event, about a possible significant deterioration in weather conditions or the occurrence of complex weather phenomena (including but not limited to: earthquake, flood, hurricane, hail, cyclone, storm, lightning, other natural disasters) that may threaten the life and health of people, the Event Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to take measures to ensure the safety of participants, spectators, fans and anyone else who is directly or indirectly involved in the Event.

The organizing committee of the event has developed an internal safety scale, according to which, in the event of adverse weather conditions, the organizing committee will act in accordance with an agreed plan and require all participants to strictly comply with its requirements, namely:

Level 1 danger – wind speed of 7-9 metres per second – inflatable arches, lightweight structures (including kilometre markers), lightweight tents (awnings), promotional and photo areas are dismantled.

Level 2 danger – wind speed of 9.5-10 metres per second – all tents (awnings) and photo zones are dismantled, as well as the crossbar of the start-finish arch.

The project manager will insist on removing anything that could pose a danger. There is a high probability that the children’s races will be cancelled.

The decision to hold or cancel them will be made immediately before the start of the children’s races, based on the actual weather conditions at that time.

Level 3 danger – wind speed of 11 metres per second or more – a collective decision will be made on whether to hold or cancel the event.

The panel for making such a decision will consist of: Project Manager Ivan Tretyakov, representative of the State Emergency Service in the region, Chief Judge of the competition.

In the event of an air raid alert in Kyiv, the Competition will be suspended. The continuation of the Competition will be announced after the air raid alert is lifted (but in any case only during daylight hours). В разі оголошення Повітряної тривоги в місті Києві проведення Змагання призупиняється. Продовження Змагання буде оголошення після Відміни Повітряної тривоги (але в будь-якому разі лише в світлу добу).

Considering that the Competition takes place during a period when martial law is in effect throughout Ukraine, in the event of an ‘Air raid alert in Kyiv’ signal being announced, the Event will be suspended, changes will be made to the Event program and start schedule, and all participants will be required to strictly follow the instructions of the Organizing Committee representatives and leave the Event venue to take shelter in the shelters marked on the route map. Once the ‘Air raid alert in Kyiv’ signal has been cancelled, the Organizing Committee representatives will decide on the spot whether the Event can continue. The decision of the Organizing Committee and the updated Event program will be announced to participants within 10 minutes of the cancellation of the ‘Air raid alert in Kyiv’ signal.

Announcement of an ‘Air raid alert in Kyiv’ signal before the start of the Competition.

In this case,  the Event will be suspended, changes will be made to the Event program and start schedule, and all participants are required to strictly comply with the requirements of the Organizing Committee representatives. Participants are required to leave the Event venue and proceed to shelters marked with appropriate symbols on the route map.

After the ‘Air raid alert in Kyiv’ signal is lifted, representatives of the Organizing Committee will decide on the possibility of continuing the Event.

The decision of the Organizing Committee and the updated Event program will be announced to participants within 15 minutes of the cancellation of the ‘Air raid alert in Kyiv’ signal.

In this case, the Contractor’s services shall not be considered as not provided, provided in poor quality or untimely, and no penalties shall be imposed on the Contractor due to the above circumstances, and the Contractor shall not be liable for the termination/cancellation/postponement of the Event.
